Michael Jackson 1958-2009 : A Look Back

Today we continue to mourn the death of one of the most influential icons in history. Not only did he have a great impact on music and artists today, but his sensational presence transcended music. He was a humanitarian, an artist, an actor, a brother, a son, and an idol to millions.

In fact, icon and idol are not great enough words to describe just how much Michael impacted the world. As a child star he won over the nation as he and his brothers performed as the Jackson 5 on the Ed Sullivan show. As a solo artist he released 10 albums and had 13 #1 hits. Thriller, since its release in 1982, has sold over 100 million copies worldwide and remains the highest selling album of all time.

Michael had his troubles along the way, but through it all he still persevered and maintained fan approval. He had been preparing for his comeback July concert series in London, tickets for which, sold out in minutes across the globe.

On this day, lets reflect on the career of a musical genius whose legacy will ultimately withstand the test of time. Rest In Peace to the KING of Pop. You will be missed.
